Manal El-Ramly, Director of Global Markets at Zema, to Lead a Discussion on the Challenge of Software "Build Versus Buy" Decisions at the EUCI Conference

October 16, 2013, Denver, Colorado -

Zema PowerGroup Inc. (Zema) today announced it is a Gold Sponsor and presenter at the Electric Utility Consultants Inc. conference (EUCI), Software System Integration for ISO/RTO Markets, on October 17 and 18, 2013, in Raleigh, North Carolina. The event, which is taking place at the Marriott City Center Hotel, will focus on the challenges presented in the bidding, scheduling, and settlements processes in North America’s ISO/RTO markets and how enhancements in process systems, IT, and data management can help to overcome them.

As the ISO/RTO markets grow increasingly more sophisticated and complex, market participants are realizing a greater need for streamlined business processes, faster transaction processes, enhanced system performance and responsiveness, and improved data management. Manal El-Ramly, Director of Global Markets, and Tammi Hudon, Eastern Office Account Manager, are attending the event from Zema. During her presentation, “Build vs. Buy, vs. Not at All!”, Manal will discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with organizations choosing to build systems internally versus outsourcing from a vendor. She will be joined by Tim Hebert, Executive VP of Energy New England, and Wayne Sadin, Senior VP and CIO of MX Energy (Retired) and Principal of Transformational CIO, who will offer insight into the buy versus build decision they managed for their respective organizations.

Manal and Tammi will also be available throughout the event at the Zema exhibition stand, and will be demonstrating the advanced data management capabilities of the Zema Suite. Zema, Zema’s award-winning enterprise data management and analysis solution, was developed in direct response to the deregulation of North American energy markets, and has been collecting ISO data since the opening of the first ISO’s in North America. Designed to meet the global needs of the energy and commodities industries, Zema replaces fragmented data collection and analysis processes with a unified and automated approach. Acting as a centralized corporate data depository with over 400 unique data providers and over 3,500 market data reports, Zema manages the integration and distribution of key datasets to end users and business-critical downstream systems.
