The National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) was created as a professional, efficient and reliable regulatory body, with technical autonomy to regulate and supervise the exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons in a sustainable manner, and to consolidate Mexico as one of the main economies in the world. CNH is responsible for gathering and maintaining information on oil and gas exploration, operating research projects on hydrocarbons, and regulating the prospecting and exploration of hydrocarbons.
