EWE GASSPEICHER GmbH, with its headquarter in Oldenburg and a storage capacity of approx. 2.1 b cubic meters working gas, is one of the major storage facility operators in the German and European gas market. The storage capacity is divided among the natural gas cavern storages EWE operated in salt formations in Jemgum, Nüttermoor and Huntorf in the northwest of Germany, and in Rüdersdorf near Berlin. EWE GASSPEICHER GmbH is a spin-off of EWE ENERGIE AG who transferred their gas storage division to EWE GASSPEICHER GmbH in June 2012. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of EWE AG who, as energy suppliers, have more than 40 years of experience in the field of natural gas storage.
