Zema’s Chief Strategy Officer Invited to Present at California Carbon Markets Seminar

June 22, 2014, Denver, Colorado -

Zema PowerGroup Inc. (Zema) is pleased to announce that Aiman El-Ramly, Chief Strategy Officer at Zema, has been invited to participate in the third annual seminar on California Carbon Markets in San Francisco, CA on June 26, 2014. Aiman will join policy experts and business leaders who were instrumental in implementing California’s revolutionary climate legislation and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Cap-and-Trade Program. At the event, Aiman will give a detailed presentation of his views on the progress of the program’s implementation and achievements to date.

In 2012, the California Air Resources Board (ARB) introduced the Cap-and-Trade Program as part of the California Global Warming Act (AB 32). The primary goal of this program was to reduce GHG emissions to 1990 levels by 2020 and to achieve an 80% reduction from 1990 levels by 2050. In his presentation, Aiman will analyze the program’s potential for actual carbon reduction, taking a closer look at impacting factors that may not have been considered in the past or currently.

Aiman said, “Deregulated power markets have opened the door for many new industry players, resulting in greater diversity in electricity generation resources and the publication of higher volumes of data. Now, we must consider the global concern for integrated and inter-dependent energy markets, as well as the ability for environmental regulations to support or distort supply/demand and market pricing.”

Aiman looks forward to meeting you in San Francisco. For more information on this event, see the Zema events calendar.
