2011 Year in Revew
January 20, 2012, Denver, Colorado -
January 20, 2012 – Richmond, B.C. – 2011 was another banner year for Zema PowerGroup Inc. (Zema) and its flagship product Zema. We are proud of our accomplishments during the past year. We deepened our product line, diversified our data offering, expanded our global operations, increased our international client base, attended more industry events than ever before and substantially expanded our workforce. We continued to solidify our objective to be a global leader in the industry while increasing our healthy financial position, and we did all that without compromising our high service standards or our commitment to our clients.
By bolstering our global energy and commodity data portfolio, we continued to be the lead provider of multi-commodity data. Our data coverage grew with the addition of over 800 new market interfaces from 160 data sources. Our overall coverage spans international markets that include energy, agriculture, metals, softs, chemicals and financial commodities. Our ongoing successful growth was a contributing factor in the decision of two of the world’s largest investment banks to implement our Zema Suite as their data management platform of choice.
We also doubled our European client base, moved into Central America and further strengthened our hold on the North American market. In order to maintain our important commitment to growing our client base, we increased our staff by 40%, expanded our head office operations and space and increased our presence in London and Singapore.
During 2011, we saw far-reaching adoption of our Zema Curve Manager module that allows clients to incorporate Zema as a robust tool for business process automation and global data management. Our Zema Consulting Group was busy with several large scale projects for new and existing clients. To meet these tasks, we continued to build partnerships and integrate our software with a wide variety of third party enterprise level systems such as SolArc, Allegro Development, Adapt2, SAP and many others.
We held several conferences and workshops during the past year with support from partners such as Allegro Development, SolArc, Platts, Argus Media, IIR Energy, Interactive Data, MDA Earthsat, OTC Global Holdings, Opportune, MRE and Adapt2. Besides our annual users’ conference in Vancouver, we travelled and held conferences and workshops in Houston, Chicago, New York, Calgary and London. We also sponsored many events held by Allegro Development, SolArc, Bentek, MDA EarthSat, WSPP, IPPSA, NESA, GCPA and NAEMA. Altogether, we participated in over 40 events internationally and we look forward to even more in 2012.
For the third year in a row, Energy Risk recognized Zema as the Data Management House of the Year. In addition, we repeated our ranking in all categories of the Energy Risk annual software survey— first place in Ease of Integration, Customer Service and Preferred System. We are also proud to have won the 2011 Innovator of the Year award from Allegro Development.
In 2012, we will build on the success we had in 2011. Although 2012 has just started, we have already engaged several major global corporations in different stages of the acquisition process. We wish to recognize our clients and partners for their ongoing support and feedback that helped make our successful 2011 possible.
